Open a new Word document.
Go to File and select Options in the lower-left corner.
In the left panel, select Customize Ribbon.
In the right column, scroll until you find Developer.
Select the checkbox next to Developer, then choose OK.
The next time you open a Word document, the Developer tab appears in the ribbon at the top of the screen.
