Fee from Refund/Deduct Fee

Learn how to configure the system to pick up different template wording where a client is to have a fee deducted from their refund.

Introduction

There may be a need to specify that a client is to receive their refund minus a fee. This can be accommodated in ATO SmartDocs with some configuration in your Practice Management/Tax system and also within ATO SmartDocs.


Steps to setup Fee from Refund/Deduct Fee

  1. Identify the field(s) that you use in your Practice Management/Tax software to record the Fee from Refund details. This might simply be a flag/tick on the client to indicate that they are a Fee from Refund/Deduct Fee client or it might be a value that you would like to pull through that stores the amount of the fee to be deducted from the refund.

  2. Provide details of the field(s) to your ATO SmartDocs Consultant or contact our Support Team at [email protected].

  3. The team at ATO SmartDocs will review the details that have been provided to determine if the field can be pulled through and referenced in ATO SmartDocs.

  4. The Assessment Type wording for Refund, Deduct Fee can be configured in the templates area to your practice requirements and will be pulled through automatically onto the Email/Letter when an NOA that contains a refund is processed for a Fee from Refund/Deduct Fee client.
