Download & Import to MYOB DM

Updated this week

Once you have sent documents to each client, you can download and import them into MYOB Document Manager using the correct filing structure. Follow the steps below.

Part 1: Download the processed documents from ATO SmartDocs

  1. Click Select All or alternatively use the filter options to select the required documents and then click Download.

  2. An Archive.zip file is saved to your Downloads folder.

  3. Right‑click the ZIP file and extract it to your iPracticeHub folder location. This will create an Archive folder.

IMPORTANT: Check the Archive.zip for a Letters folder and print out any letters and remove the folder PRIOR to completing the upload of documents to MYOB DM. A copy of the documents and letters under the Letters folder also exist under the specific client folders.

Part 2: Upload the documents to MYOB DM

  1. Open MYOB and go to Maintenance > Documents > Document Migration to run the import.

  2. Select Directory Structure Only, then click Next.

  3. Untick the Contacts checkbox and click Next.

  4. Click Next.

  5. Select the person performing the import and click Next.

  6. Leave Status = Complete and Source = Outbound, then click Next.

  7. Click Next again.

  8. Change each Filing Cabinet so Mapping Complete = Yes.
To do this, click No or Edit, enter any values in the fields (MYOB does not use this data for the import but each field must be completed), then click OK.
When all cabinets show Yes, click Next.

  9. Click Next.

  10. Click Yes.

  11. Confirm that Fail = 0, then click OK.

  12. Click Finish.

After the import is complete, you can delete the documents stored in the iPracticeHub\Archive folder.
