Open the Letter Template settings
Select Setup > ATO SmartDocs > Configuration.
Select the Letter Templates tab.
Select the Document Types tab.
Choose the Document Type Letter Template
Open the Document Types dropdown list.
Select the Document Type you want to customise.
If the Document Type has never been customised and is using the Master Letter Template, the system displays a message prompting you to create a custom version.
Select Customise Template to create a custom template for that Document Type.
If the Document Type already has a custom version, the Letter Template Editor opens so you can edit the existing Custom Letter Template.
TIP: To find Document Types with existing custom templates, type the word custom in the Document Types dropdown list.
Use the Letter Template Editor
The Letter Template Editor lets you update the letter content for the selected Document Type.
You can add your own text and insert field data into the letter body. Examples of field data include:
Salutation
Type
JobManagerName
FinYear
Insert field data using square brackets, for example [Type].
When inserting [ManagerSignature] or [PartnerSignature], upload the signature image for the user under: Setup > Manage > Users > Approver Signatures
Additional field data (when identifiers are enabled)
If identifiers are enabled and filled out in the selected document profile, you can also include:
[FinYear] – extracts the financial year
$[AssessAmount] – extracts a dollar amount
[Extra$Amount] – extracts a second dollar amount
[DocumentDueDate] – extracts a due date
[DocumentDate] – extracts a second date
For more information about these fields, contact ATO SmartDocs Support or book into the free Administrator Training.
