Tips to help your clients

When clients open a document link on a PC, they may be prompted to download or save the file.

If clients open the link on a phone, the experience varies depending on the model and device settings.

Note: The document may not open directly on a mobile device after entering the PIN. The user will be prompted to download the file.

Android devices

  1. Enter the PIN.

  2. Download the document when prompted.

  3. Open the document when the phone prompts you to launch it.

Apple devices

  1. Enter the PIN.

  2. Download the document when prompted.

  3. Open the Files app and locate the downloaded document.

    • Alternatively, swipe left to right to open search, type files, and select the Files folder.

If the client enters an incorrect PIN, the system displays a warning or an UNAUTHORISED ACCESS error message.

Advise clients to check that the document name in the SMS containing the PIN matches the file name in the email.

Safe sender list

Recommend that clients add the domain from which you are sending the email to their safe sender list. The steps vary by mail provider, so they should use their email system’s settings to locate and add safe sender entries.
