Use this procedure when you see an error while sending emails from iWorkflow or in the ATO SmartDocs processing screen. These errors occur because the Office 365 API connection between SmartDocs and Office 365 is not working.
There are several reasons why the connection may stop working:
the mailbox password has changed
two-factor authentication (2FA) was recently enabled
the app registration reached its two-year expiry and needs to be reset
Microsoft is experiencing an issue with their mail servers
You need to re-establish this connection before SmartDocs can send emails to your Office 365 mailbox.
Ask your IT administrator to check the Office 365 API setup in Azure or Entra. They should refer to the Office 365 API Setup document. http://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/tyl6nzc94u7384ppcx7v9/Office365_configuration.docx?rlkey=s7wcjrvvp16d1y2rev20gpp1n&st=a6dqf3k8&dl=0
The key sections to review are:
section 4: Application (Client) ID
section 5: Certificates and Secrets
section 9: Integration
IMPORTANT: At Step 9 of the document, make sure you log in to ATO SmartDocs using an Incognito browser window. This ensures the Microsoft login screen appears so you can enter the correct mailbox credentials for the API connection.
